Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (SRMAs) are considered the highest quality in evidence-based guideline and policy development.
Nutrition-related SRMAs tend to focus on either clinical trials assessing disease risk factors, or observational studies (e.g. prospective cohort studies) assessing disease outcomes(e.g. incidence).
