New Resource: Physical Activity Trends, Dietary Reference Intakes (DRIs) and the Built Environment

The Canadian Sugar Institute (CSI) Nutrition Information Service is pleased to provide the 2005 edition of our annual health professional resource, Carbohydrate News, "Obesity, Physical Activity and the Built Environment". 

This year's edition of Carbohydrate News focuses on physical activity, including an article on the role of the built environemtn, and a summary of physical activity recommendations from the Dietary Reference Intakes (DRI) macronutrient report, published by the US Institute of Medicine in collaboration with Health Canada. In addition, Carbohydrate News describes current physical activity trends in Canada, and highlights recent scientific literature on the role of carbohydarte for sports.
