CSI maintains a Nutrition Information Service to inform Canadians about current scientific information on sugars, carbohydrates, and health. This service is managed by qualified nutrition professionals, and guided by a Scientific Advisory Council.
This section is dedicated to the needs of Educators and Students. CSI works with health professionals and educators to develop educator and student materials about the role of sugars and carbohydrates in a healthy diet, including energy balance and fuelling for physical activity. Information is also available in a cross-curriculum context, guiding visitors through an exploration of photosynthesis, food chains, global sugar cane and sugar beet production, and the human body.
